Read the Full GuideWe perform circumcisions for newborn babies, infants, and children up to the age of 8 months. Infants tolerate the procedure better than older children, so we recommend having it done within the first few months. We strongly advise against having the procedure in the first week of life.
Local anaesthetic is injected at the base of the penis before the procedure. It takes 2–4 minutes to work and lasts 4–6 hours. While babies do feel some sensation, the anaesthetic minimises discomfort significantly and younger babies tend to settle quickly afterwards.
The circumcision itself takes approximately 10–15 minutes. Please allow around 1–1.5 hours for your total visit, including the examination beforehand and post-procedure checks and aftercare instructions.
Yes, we require both parents to be present and to sign the consent form. Exceptions apply for single parents or similar circumstances — please discuss your situation with us in advance and we will accommodate accordingly.
Please bring your baby's Red Book or Birth Certificate (if issued), and a photographic ID for both parents — such as a passport, driving licence, or biometric card.
